Many famous video game companies have come up with representatives by now. For instance, Square Enix just added another Smash representative with Sephiroth, to the delight and surprise of many. However, there’s still a lot of really influential studios that don’t have a fighter in Smash yet. One of those is Bethesda. It can’t be denied that Bethesda is one of the most successful developers of RPGs in the industry, so frankly it’s surprising that Smash Ultimate doesn’t have a single fighter from its franchises yet....

Nintendo once set out to taking down YouTube videos that featured gameplay footage from their franchises, but just last year made an about face, deciding to work with people through an affiliate program. The rise and ever-growing popularity of Let’s Plays forced many companies to step back and reconsider their stance due to one unavoidable fact: a lot of people experience games this way (read: free marketing). This month, Microsoft updated its own stance on monetization through its Game Content Usage Rules, and can only be seen as good news for YouTube and Twitch creators....

In a new interview with the Telegraph, Mike Nichols, Microsoft’s chief marketing officer for Xbox, gave Google props for having an infrastructure in place that could support an endeavor as ambitious as Google Stadia. That said, Nichols did not seem confident that Google would be able to deliver games on the level of companies already established in the industry. Certainly, Microsoft has spent longer cultivating its relationships with the developers and publishers that Google will now be engaging with as it looks to bring exciting titles to Stadia....

News of the leak spread after details from the Target listing surfaced on Twitter Sunday afternoon. Prior to takedown, the product listing showed a release date of August 22, but whether that’s a confirmed date or just a Target placeholder is anyone’s guess. As of press time, neither Monolith Productions nor publisher Warner Bros. had commented on the leak. Kotaku reports that the story for Shadow of War will be based on Talion and Celebrimbor, the two protagonists from the first game, working to forge a new ring that’s as powerful as Sauron’s....

Windows 10 21H1 Begins Rollout to Insider Preview Users As per a post on the official Windows 10 blog by John Cable, Vice President of Program Management, Windows Servicing and Delivery, Microsoft is “releasing 21H1 builds to Windows Insiders in the Beta channel.” The blog post also confirmed that the Windows 10 21H1 update isn’t going to be a transformative process for the operating system. 21H1 focuses on improving “core experiences” for users, which will place a strong emphasis on bug fixes, stability, security, and quality....

Speaking to Kotaku, 343 Industries Executive Producer Dan Ayoub explains that, while the desires of PC fans haven’t gone unheard, the Xbox One version of the Halo collection is the “main focus right now. Microsoft’s Final Farewell for Legacy Edge Microsoft’s plans for getting rid of the legacy version of Edge was spotted by Windows Latest. In the Windows 10 21H2 preview build, Microsoft released a new language pack update. Keen-eyed users noticed that the update actually removed compatibility with the legacy version of Edge. The Chromium version, on the other hand, was still fully supported. As such, it appears that the software giant is finally putting the old version of Edge to rest....

The launch of Halo 4 video game for the Xbox 360 is due this November. The teaser trailer displays the “terrifying beginning of the Human-Covenant War”, when Master Chief (the hero of the Halo series) was a young cadet who gets to become a leader aboard the UNSC Infinity space vessel. The upcoming series is believed to have five episodes of fifteen minutes each. Sources reveal that all the five episodes will not be released together, but on a weekly basis....
